Good Band Logo
Why does a good band logo matter?
A good band logo, and coordinating clothes, and being known for something all go hand in hand. The point? To have a recognizable aspect of your band. It will make parents, other musicians, and record executives say: “Wow! That band with the cool suits was amazing musically, and they’re super memorable.” This will get your band much farther ahead of the other bands, and will give them something to remember your band by.
What classifies as a good logo?
A good logo is usually a simple, but unique picture, or symbol which is associated with the band, and what their name is. A band logo can also, and usually does, include the band name, so that people remember whose logo it is. Some memorable logos are: the Rolling Stones’ mouth logo, the Grateful Dead’s cool skull logo, and AC/DC’s simple “AC/DC” logo with the thunderbolt as the forward slash. It makes people see the logos and instantly remember your band.
Steps to Take:
- Take your band name and see if you can sketch up some cool logos
- Pick the best few, and make a final draft of each, and present them to your bandmates
- Experiment with simple symbols, and with the use of your band name as well
In summary:
- A band logo’s purpose is to make people think of your band
- If you have a good band logo, people will think of your band when they see other everyday objects, even if it isn’t your logo
- Spreading this logo will help get your band recognized
